Christian Aid Week

2011

 

Message from Sara Bramall, Christian Aid Coordinator for Ararat

 Many thanks to ALL who contributed in any way to Ararat’s 2011 Christian Aid Week collection. The total banked was £3,481.60 which, with Gift Aid, means we have contributed £4011.95 to the work of Christian Aid.. 

         This is almost enough to fund two coffee processing plants, allowing farmers in Nicaragua to process the coffee they have grown. They can then sell it for a better price and raise funds to establish schools and health centres in their communities.  Thank you for helping to turn their hope into reality.

 Fair Trade set a new record for sales for 2010

'Fair Trade' sales in Ararat for 2011 were £2,967, slightly down on the 2010 sales figure
