Centre for the Community – The Ark

We were delighted to be able to hold an official opening ceremony in March of 2018 and give the brand new centre a name, THE ARK. We thought it the right name as it was a building project, the Ark was a place of protection, refuge and security and the original Ark landed on Mount Ararat!

The day  was one of celebration and music. Whitchurch Primary gave a fantastic performance and even wrote a special song and prayer for us. Our lovely Goldies got everyone singing and dancing and the Band, Rarely Used,  got us rocking. The Ribbon was cut by two very special people. Morfydd Tarr one of our own ladies who was 100 years young and little Ada Watkins who was 2 years old and the fourth generation of members of this church. Ada declared we were “Officially Open”! Please go to our Facebook page (link on the front page here) to see photographs of the day and those who walked the red carpet.

We are so grateful to God for the provision He has given for us to have this incredible facility. The Ark has been used for so many events since our opening and our Renew@The Ark. which is a Well-being Cafe, has taken of and we have found some hidden talents in some of those who come. Please come along and join with us. It is a quiet shared space where it is ok not be ok. You can learn or share a hobby, enjoy the peace in our quiet area or relax over a cup of your favourite brew.

We hold sessions on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2-4 and Saturdays from 10.00am-12.00, we would love to have you with us.

On Wednesday mornings, we welcome you to have a Cuppa with a Copper. The lovely team of Police Support officers are here from 11.00am-12.00pm to chat with you informally about any thing you may be concerned about in our locality or simply just to say hello.

We are so excited to be part of this real HUB which is being used by our community.
